Health and Safety - Day 3
Every time that we film in a location we need to make sure that we make a health and safety risk assessment in the area that we are working in, this is so that we keep all our actors, actresses and crew safe.
For our day 3 of filming we had to travel down to Brighton to film our protest scenes, unfortunately on this day it was raining and this one of the first hazards that occurred to us, as we didn't want any of the camera equipment or lighting to get wet and damaged, so when we were filming we made sure we have someone else behind us holding an umbrella so that the cameras were covered.
Another hazard was that when we are filming a anti-immigrant protest scene we didn't want to offend any of the public cause a dispute against the public, so rather than shouting the racist slurs out loud, we pre recorded everyone shouting in the protest so that we couldn't offend anyone on the actual day, therefore when we were filming the protest scene all the actors had to simply mimed what we recorded earlier.
As it was raining on the day of the protest and we were filming outside in the rain, we had to warn all our actors to wear warm suitable clothing (preferably waterproof), we had to do this,so that none of the actors got too cold and wet which would be a huge hazard for us because they couldn't go inside while we were in Brighton as our filming was all outside.
As we were filming outside with the general public around us we had to make sure when we were filming Theo (Kazimir) walking down the road, we didn't walk into any of the public or make the public feel uncomfortable because of the camera. Every time the street went quite we would film our scenes to make sure we didn't annoy or disrupt the public at all, this couldn't have been a hazard but we made sure it didn't happen.
