Props

For our first props we need 2 alarm clocks, bacon cooking in a pan, an apple, an article on Syria newspaper and a coffee. This is for both Kasimir and James morning routine. In shows the contrast between the two and creates a realistic morning setting/routine.

Then for Kasimirs first bedroom scene we will need a bag with objects such as a hoodie to pack into it and a phone. We will use a backpack stereotypical for teenagers, creates enigma of what he's hiding as we will not see everything he puts into the bag. The phone also creates enigma and you see messages key to the narrative.

The next props are the signs for the protest. These need to be made by us, they will be convincing and create a sense of realism. A variety of 'shocking' signs will add to the atmosphere of the film. We will have Megan hand Kasimir his sign which will read "Today Refugees, Tomorrow Terrorists!". We chose this as after feedback from our target audience we discovered this was the most shocking to the spectator.

After this the next props we will need is the contents of James locker. We will need a small mirror, an Army uniform, a tag, a picture of 'loved ones' and finally a letter which portrays he is fighting for his country in Afghanistan. These props will again add realism as well as make the audience feel sympathy and pride for James character.

In the kitchen scene we will need a chopping board, knife and vegetables for Inna to chop as she is cooking dinner in this scene. We will also need a Radio as it will play the key section of two Radio presenters discussing the Syrian refugee crisis. In addition to this we will need soap for Kasimir to wash his hands with.

Finally we will need keys for James to catch, a car for him to drive away in.
