James first costume will simply be a black shirt and black shorts as it is pyjamas.
For second costume James basic everyday outfit we have chosen a check shirt, white t-shirt, black jeans and brown boat shoes. This outfit is casual and does not connote an army soldier, we specifically chose not to hint at this as we wanted it to be an unexpected twist. This outfit allows the audience to not be suspicious. James clothes do not express an exspensive lifestyle as a soldier he is a working class male. He will not be wearing glasses during filming as that would not be plausable for an army soldier. We will also have his haired gelled back slightly to the side to be neat. As a soldier being clean and smart looking are compulsary therefore it would be typical of our character. A clean white shirt emphasises this. Ed Sheeran was our inspiration for this outfit as he is known for his casual style.
For his third costume we have a camoflauge jacket and trousers. It is a stereotypical army outfit and will clearly communicate to the audience that he is a soldier for the British Army.
The final costume for James is a black denim jacket, a black top and black jeans. This a more 'cooler' and modern look. We went for this style as it relates to the ending of our film where James drives away laughing in a exspensive car. The black also connotes darkness as when he first sees the graffitti it appears as a threat and as if he is affected by it emotionally. Which creates a good contrast to when he breaks the tension by laughing.
For Kasimirs costume we went for a typical teenage hoodie look. We have him wearing a black Northface jacket, black jeans, white tshirt and black Doc Martens. The dark clothing connotes something sinister as well as the hood giving off a 'thug' impression. It subtly conveys Kasismir as the antagonist which is what we wanted to portray.
